Evans, GA. - Mrs. Geneva L Hammonds, daughter of the late Marion and Sadie Dickerson, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at University Hospital. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at The Church of the Most Holy Trinity. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Memorial Garden. Mrs. Hammonds, a native of Augusta, was a 1956 graduate of Lucy Laney High School. After thirty years of service , she retired from the Augusta Housing Authority. She was a member of the Funseekers RV Club for forty years. Survivors are her husband of fifty eight years, James Hammonds; sons, James (Luevirta) Hammonds III, Augusta, Eric A. (Carolyn A.) Hammonds, Evans, Jeffrey Todd (Karen) Hammonds, Martinez, Orlando D. (Gwendolyn) Hammonds, Evans; sisters, Gloria (Frank) Carpenter, Augusta, Yvonne Jenkins, Las Vegas, NV; brother, Arthur (Carolyn) Dickerson, Lenard Dickerson, Augusta; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces nephews and other relatives.
