Rev. Dr. Donald
Clay
Sep 28, 1940 — Oct 5, 2014
Augusta, GA ---On Sunday, October 5, 2014, the Lord called home one of his good and faithful servants, Reverend Dr. Donald Clay, a man who so many loved and highly favored. Reverend Dr. Donald Clay was born on September 28, 1940 in St. Louis, MO to the late Fred and Ruth Naomi Clay. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour at the age of 12 and was baptized at Mount Olive Baptist Church, St. Louis, MO, under the ministry of the late Reverend C.L. Langford. Donald entered the United States Armed Services after graduating from Vashon High School in St. Louis, MO and made a career in the United States Army in satellite communications. During his military career, Donald toured many countries throughout Asia and Europe. He received the Vietnam Service and Campaign medal, Good Conduct medal, Army Commendation medal, and the Bronze Star. With 20 years active service, he retired as a First Sergeant. After 30 years of civil service, he retired as a Satellite Communications Instructor/Writer. Donald served the Lord in various church positions from choir member, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, Ordained Deacon, and Associate Minister. After Donald was ordained into the ministry at Harmony Baptist Church in Augusta, GA, he founded Christian Alliance Ministry, Interfaith Ministry, and Guiding Light Christian Church. He is an advocate of Christian Education and thrives on teaching others biblical prophesy. Donalds academic achievements include a B.A. in Business Administration, a B.A. in Theology, a M.S. in Theology, a Master of Divinity Degree, and a Doctorate in Ministry. Donald had a passion for antiques. An early riser, he excitedly traveled in the vicinity to yard sales, estate sales, auctions and flea markets to find the best deals and bargains. Those who knew him will always remember Donald as charitable, kind, sociable, and strong-willed. Donald always brought smiles and laughter to anyone in his presence. Donald leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted daughter, Sirintorn D. Clay of Denver, CO; his son, Donald J. Clay (wife, Gayle Clay) of San Diego, CA; two grandchildren, Carissa N. Clay and Caidon J. Clay, both of San Diego, CA; and his long-time loving and devoted friend, Marjorie Hudson, of Augusta, GA. Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 1 p.m. at B. A. Williams Memorial Chapel. Williams Funeral Home, 2945 Old Tobacco Road, Hephzibah, GA
