Mrs. Shirley Harper departed this life on January 13, 2024 at Wellstar MCG. She was born in Richmond County, GA on September 7th to the late Rosend Thomas and the late Willie G. Thomas. She was a lifelong resident of Augusta, a very dedicated caregiver, and a loving mother. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 2 p.m. at B. A. Williams Memorial Chapel. She leaves to cherish her memory: loving husband, Douglas Harper; sons, Douglas Harper and Jonathan Harper; stepchildren, Alica Harper, Fredric Harper and Dennis Hunter; one granddaughter, Marlayja Harper; sisters, Gloria Jones, Shelia Thomas; brothers, Charles (Gloria) Patterson, Raymond (Lucy) Patterson, Kenney Thomas, Willie Thomas, and Larry Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
