Augusta , GA . - Mr. Walter Stokes entered into rest on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Henry Ingram officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Memorial Garden. Mr. Stokes was a graduate of Lucy C.Laney High School and a U. S. Marine Corp Veteran. Survivors are his beloved wife; Lucille Stokes, children, Walter Stokes Jr., Lakeesha Stokes, Michael Stokes and Nicole (Timothy) Gilchrist; mother, Rosa Lee Stokes, all of Augusta; brother, Moses (Thelma) Stokes, N. Augusta, SC; sisters, Julia Porter Stein, Augusta, Judith (John) Bradberry, Jonesboro, GA; sister in-laws, Bobby Jean (David) Haynes, Susie Evans, Mable Jordan, and Brenda King all of Augusta; Janie (Clifford) Brown, Seattle, WA; brother in laws, Alvin Evans and Calvin Evans both of Augusta, eight grandchildren and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.
