Perdue
Apr 16, 1950 — Aug 3, 2025
Ms. Betty Perdue entered into rest on Sunday, August 3, 2025. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Thompson Springhill A.M.E Church. Interment will be at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, Matthews, GA. Born on April 16, 1950, in Augusta, Georgia, Betty was the cherished daughter of the late Lee Otis and Annie Lee Perdue. A true "daddy's girl," she spent much of her childhood by her father's side. She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age, becoming a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Augusta. She was educated in the Richmond County public school system and proudly graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School in 1968. Shortly after, Betty moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she spent most of her adult life. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether relaxing at home or opening her doors to family and friends. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome, where visitors quickly became family. A dedicated and hardworking professional, Betty served more than 30 years in Dietary Services at Emory University Hospital, retiring in 2012. She relocated to Rock Hill, South Carolina, after retiring to be near her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her life. Betty's life was one of quiet strength, generosity, and love. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Doris Mixon (Oliver) and Jeannette Turner (Hilton Sr.); and her grandson, Serhenry Miller. She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to her family: her daughter, Chiquita Miller (Kenroy) of Rock Hill; her son, Marcus Scott of Great Falls, SC; grandsons, Kenroy Miller Jr. and Kendrick Miller of Rock Hill; granddaughter, LeeAnn Miller of Rock Hill; sister, Annette Noble (Perry) of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Leotis Perdue of Augusta, and Ronnie Perdue (Mechelle) of Statesboro, Ga. She is also survived by her special nieces and nephews, Hilton Turner Jr. (Clester), Belinda Baker (Linwood), DeAdra Noble, Denise Noble, Corine Ferebee (Curtis), Perry Noble Jr., Keisha Perdue, and William Perdue (Daneen) along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and extended family who will forever remember her with love. Betty Jean Perdue's life was a testament to kindness, hospitality, and devotion to family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
