Obituary

Carl Douglas Hill, a devoted servant of God and a man of great kindness, entered eternal rest peacefully on October 16, 2025, surrounded by love and faith. A Graveside service will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. Born with a generous spirit and a deep sense of duty, Carl began his adult life in military service, proudly serving his country with honor and integrity. After completing his time in the military, he pursued a career in nursing, where his compassion and patience touched countless lives. His care for others extended far beyond his profession, it was the very essence of who he was. In his later years, Carl continued his life of service through his steadfast devotion to The Hill Baptist Church, where he became a beloved and enduring presence. His love for the Lord was unwavering, and his commitment to the church and its members was second to none. To Carl, the congregation was more than just a community, it was his family. He served faithfully as a Deacon, participated in several ministry teams, and could always be counted on to volunteer whenever the need arose. Whether lending a helping hand, supporting the church's mission, or uplifting others through prayer and kindness, Carl lived out his faith daily. His humility, generosity, and tireless devotion made him a true pillar of The Hill Baptist Church—a man whose quiet strength and joyful spirit inspired all who knew him. Carl was an avid sports fan and animal lover who enjoyed watching a good football game and spending time with his cherished dog, Charlie, who brought him great comfort and companionship. He was also a master at bowling and could play a mean game of ping pong. Carl is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Muriel Brown Hill, and his mother, Gwendolyn A. Hill. Carl's life was one of selflessness, service, and purpose. He will be remembered not only for his acts of kindness but also for his gentle smile, warm heart, and unwavering faith in the Lord. Though he is no longer with us on Earth, Carl's legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the church he so dearly loved. He has earned his rest in the arms of his Savior, where peace and joy abound forever. There will be a viewing on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. There will be a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025 at The Hill Baptist Church.
