Mrs. Ethel Mae Baker, the daughter of the late Oliver and Leola Gibbons, was born on March 30, 1928 in Louisville, Georgia, Jefferson County. She departed her life on August 5, 2017. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Christian City of Praise with Pastor Kenneth Gainous officiating. Ethel joined Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church at an early age and was well known in her church and community. Ethel graduate of Louisville High School. Ethel moved to Augusta, Ga. and started her career as an caregiver and independent domestic worker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Baker Sr., William "Bill" Gibbons, Julia Gibbons, and Ida McNutt. She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Ralph Baker Jr., (Sonya), Leola Yarbray, Patricia Vincent-Scott (Danny), John Baker, Juliette Baker, Carl Baker and Garrette (Connie) Baker all of Augusta and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and cousins. The family will be receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
