Mr. Gary Sowell entered into rest on Friday, April 18, 2025. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA. Gary married his childhood sweetheart, Joyce Banks-Sowell, May 17,1975. They shared 49 years and 11 months of LOVE. He was a dedicated, devoted husband and father. Within their 49 years of love they had two children, Anthony (Lynn) Sowell and Renee Sowell. He was a loving father and Papa to ten grandchildren, Zion Sowell (Champ), Trinity Sowell, Andre Perrin, Ahmaria Parker, Ahlea Parker, Bryan Harris, Tye'Asia Jones, Makhi Latimer, Jalani Jones, and Dextavion Reese. He also leaves to cherish one brother Gregory Sowell (New Brockton, Alabama), Special Nephew's Greg Jr. and Khalik Sowell Niece Maria (Moncks corners) nephew's, Dennis, David, and Danny (all of Augusta ga) Mother in Love Peggy Banks, (Hephzibah, Georgia), Brothers in Love Joseph Banks (Fayetteville, North Carolina) and William Thomas (Hephzibah, Georgia). Aunts, Gladys Yelverton (Elba, Alabama), Willene (Jimmy Brown) (Far Rockaway, New York) Special friend of the family: Karen Jacobs.
