Mrs. Geneva B. Stallings entered into rest Thursday June 13, 2024. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Beulah Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be Walker Memorial Park. Geneva was a proud product of Richmond County. Geneva graduated from Lucy Craft Laney High School in Augusta, Georgia (Class of 1954), where she was a team member on the Lady Wildcats Basketball team. She then went on to matriculate at Paine College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1958. She attended Atlanta University (1960) and Southern Illinois University (1965). Geneva then went on to earn a Master of Education in Reading/Language Arts degree in 1976 from the University of Georgia. She also received an Education Specialist degree from Tuskegee University in 1983. She was also member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Geneva leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, James R. Stallings, Jr.; loving daughter, Marcy (Leonard) Bradley; grandchildren, Gykema (Roberta) Harris, Brittney (Akeem) Newman, Bentley Stallings, Trey Horne, Leonard Bradley, Jr. and Marlend Bradley; great- grandchildren, Tamia Harris, Sariya Lawrence, Charles Coleman, Brihanna Hodge, Cameron Harris, Aubrey Harris, Skylar Sutton, Messiah Newman, and Rhylan Stallings-Ballard; nephews, Ernest (Shirley) Thomas, Jr. and Loyal G. (Virginia) Evans, III; nieces, Lisa (Arthur) Dean, Yolonde (Jimmy) Taylor, Dawn Phillips, Kebra Thomas and Denika Thomas; a special cousin, Margaret Armstrong; and a host of beloved cousins, relatives and friends. Mrs. Stallings may be viewed on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
