Augusta, GA -- Mrs. Gladys Priester Murdaugh, wife of Arthur Murdaugh, entered into rest on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Funeral service will held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. She attended Allendale County schools and graduated from Allendale Training School in 1962. After 20 years of service, she retired from Kmart and had recently retired from Augusta UniHealth after 20 years of service. Gladys was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher. She leaves to cherish her memories: A devoted husband, Arthur L. Murdaugh; two daughters, Antoinette (Cecil) Wilson and Alwine (Lonnie) Lewis; two sons, Angelo (Santhia) Murdaugh and Anthony (Pamela Thompson) Murdaugh; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one goddaughter Briana Freeman; two sisters, Jannie Mae (Ferris) Foster and Georgia Ann (Tommie) Doe. A special and devoted friend, Loretta "Peach Pie" McCain; and a host of friends and family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
