SSG (Ret) Jose A. Colon entered into rest on May 28, 2025. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11 a.m. at B. A. Williams Memorial Chapel. Colon began his career with the Waynesboro Police Department in 2018 as a patrol officer and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2020. After being promoted, he served in the roles of shift supervisor, evidence, custodian, armorer, and fleet manager. Prior to starting his civilian law enforcement career, Sergeant Colon served in the United States Army and was a Gulf War Veteran. He was a true hero who dedicated his life to serving both our country and our community. Survivors are his wife, Patricia Colon; stepchildren, Derrick (Constance) Wilson, Christopher Cathcart; mother, Ana Colon; sister, Iris Colon; brother, Juan (Norma) Colon; and a host of other relatives.
