Mrs. Laura Walker Jones entered into rest on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at B. A. Williams Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Preceding her in death was a son, Cornell G. Evans, brother, Bennie Walker and sister, Sara Walker. She leaves to mourn three children, Cheryl (Larry) Ramsey of Grovetown, GA, Garrie (Julia) Evans of Hephzibah, GA, Norbert L. (Tammy) Jones Jr. of Plainfield, NJ; four grandchildren, Shaunte' M. Evans, Sean A. Evans of Colonial, NJ, Laura A. Jones of Beaverton, OR, Terrance A. Jones of Cary, NC; siblings, Stanley (Helen) Anderson of Newark, NJ, Martha Shorte of Grovetown, GA, Polly Joyner of Passaic, NJ, Earnest (Diane) Walker Jr of Irvington, NJ, Horace (Bobbie) Walker of Pemberton, NJ, Dorothy Holloway of Bronx, NY, Charles Walker of Philadelphia, PA, Carl Walker of Manisfield, PA, Delores Brown of Bronx, NY and Willie Mae Walker of Bronx, NY; aunts, Emma Walker Terrell of Irvington, NJ, Annie Jo Walker Wesby of Waynesboro, GA; great uncle, Alvin Wimberly of Waynesboro, GA and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
