Mr. Lawrence Blakely, Jr., 69, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, surrounded by love. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 31, 2025, at B.A. Williams Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Born on December 29, 1955, in Augusta, Georgia, Lawrence was the only child of the late Lawrence Blakely, Sr. and Gracie Blakely. A devoted and hardworking man, Lawrence took great pride in everything he did. He loved working with his hands—whether repairing cars in his spare time or leading teams during his many years at John Deere, where he retired as a respected supervisor. His dedication, work ethic, and humble spirit earned him the admiration of all who knew him. Lawrence's genuine warmth and easygoing nature made him a friend to many. He found great joy in his hobbies, especially his passion for muscle cars and drag racing. Above all, what brought him the greatest happiness was spending time with his beloved grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his daughter, Tracy (Brian) Tucker of Tampa, Florida; his grandchildren, Josiah Tucker and Ja'el Tucker, both of Tampa, Florida; and a host of loving cousins and dear friends. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Blakely, Sr. and Gracie Blakely. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for family. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
