Augusta, GA. - Melvin Smith entered into rest on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Georgia Regents Medical Center. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ D'Antignac Street with Brother Larry Knight officiating. Burial will be at Southview Cemetery. Survivors are his mother, Anita Smith, Augusta; brothers ,Frank (Christina)Smith, San Diego, CA; Marco (Stephanie) Smith, Aiken, SC; Demar Smith, Lamar Smith, Javor Smith, Keyeon Smith, Christopher Smith all of Augusta; sisters, Rachel Smith, Mary (Buddy) Brown, Anita Smith, Jessica Smith all of Augusta; grandmother, Mary Briscoe, Augusta; and host of beloved uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
