MSG (Ret.) William Harry Mayes entered into rest on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, at B.A. Williams Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC, on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (Section 8, Site 996). Mr. Mayes was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimiko Bridges, and grandchild, Irene Jimenez. He is survived by his wife, Annie Mayes; son, Gerald (Lisa) Holmes; daughters, Courtney Mayes and Tomiko Mayes; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
