It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Rodney Delanzo James on September 8, 2025 ending a long fought battle with cancer. Mr. James was born to the late Andrew Vinson Jr. and the late Mary Iola James Chisolm of Aiken, SC. Rodney was a graduate of the Class of 1984 Midland Valley High School. Rodney was known for his comedic comebacks and straight to the point comments. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his sisters, Lakeisha Chisolm, Grovetown, GA, Patricia Chisolm, New Ellenton, SC, Pamela Vinson Randolph, Augusta, GA and a brother, Rashaad Chisolm Griffin, Aiken, SC; stepmother, Margaret Vinson, Augusta, GA; aunts, Patricia (Teddy) Ingram, Martinez, GA, Mary Vinson Scholtz, Warrenville, SC, Mahalia (Louie) Cryts, Graniteville, SC, Audrey Vinson, Graniteville, SC; uncles, Lafayette James Jr., Augusta, GA, Roosevelt Vinson, Warrenville, SC and Melvin (Sherry) Vinson, Columbia, SC; four nieces and four nephews and a host of cousins and other family and friends. In loving memory, we will have a private memorial and repast on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Visits and phone calls from family and friends are welcomed.
