Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Beulah Grove Baptist Church at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Robert Johnson Sr and Hattie Bell Reese; sister, Lugenia Overton. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Carolene Johnson; four daughters, Chinek (Xaviar) Washington, Karen Tyler, Jennifer Johnson, Tyese Cooks; son, Tavaris (Stephanie) Johnson; sisters, Barbara Johnson, Debra (Leon) Watkins, Mary Ann (Elton) Daniels, Gwen Johnson, Jessie Mae Johnson, Evon Johnson, Linda Johnson, Martha Johnson, Shonda Johnson; brothers, Elester (Lois) Shaw, Freddie Johnson; aunt, Marie Williams; two sisters-in-law, Rev. Eva Johnson, Cora Hill; brothers-in-law, Henry Johnson, James Johnson, William Overton; grandchildren, Tanika Ramsey, Ricky Ramsey, Jquan Ramsey, Jaxon Roper, Jacob Roper, Kendra Foster, Alstell Foster; one great granddaughter, Kenzi Foster and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. There will be a viewing on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
