SFC (Ret.) Henry A. Simpkins Sr. entered into rest on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bobby Ann Simpkins and his beloved wife, Pastor Andrea Simpkins. After serving his country with honor, Henry dedicated himself to serving his community, working in corrections at Augusta State Medical Prison, Georgia State Regional Hospital, and Gracewood State Regional Hospital. His commitment to duty and steadfastness touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Henry leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, honored by his children: Henry Alan Simpkins Jr., ShaTasha Renee Simpkins, and Tonya Yvette Simpkins. His memory is further cherished by his grandchildren, Henry Alan Simpkins III, Larenz Alexander Simpkins, Andre Simpkins, Dante Anthony Simpkins, Teressa Angelique Simpkins, Ashlee Ciara Simpkins, and Joseph Amir Simpkins, as well as his great-grandchildren Storm Simpkins and Shadeaux Simpkins. Additionally, he is survived by numerous cousins, friends, and comrades from his service as both a law enforcement officer and a soldier.
