Ms. Sharon Denice Melton, entered into rest on September 15, 2020. She passed peacefully surrounded and supported by her loving mother, sister and son. Ms. Sharon was born on January 11, 1972 in Korea to Herman and Song Rogers. She was raised in a military background. Her family settled in Augusta in 1983 where she attended Morgan Road Middle School and graduated from Hephzibah High School in 1990. The majority of her years were spent working as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. She is survived by her son, Shabazz Wright and his wife, Alesha; her daughter, Jasmine O'Neal; her mother, Song C. Rogers; five grandchildren; her sister, Moria Jason Vassar; her fiancé, Craig Dillon; nieces, Ayanna Davis and RayNiyah Goolsby; nephew, Jason Vassar; and best friend, Dawn Davis. Due to the pandemic, only immediate family will be in attendance for the memorial service. A balloon release in her honor will be on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 2 p.m. (place: tba).
